Online Shop Review - Suits Me Online

Suits Me is an online store I somehow stumbled across, I liked the look and the prices of their outfits so when I noticed the words "clearance sale" I decided to order something and check it out for myself!!

The site supplies the following: ladies readymade, menswear, jewellery, sarees, kids, ladies kurta, shawls, footwear, shalwars and handbags.

My first browse took me to the ladieswear section

They have 10 pages worth of Shalwar suits, but only 2 pages of trouser suits, and only 2 churidar suits! Considering churidar suits are pretty much what everyone is wearing at the moment, it makes me think this site isn't exactly the height of fashion!

Also, after looking at the suits themselves, and the prices, I'd say most of these outfits would be for daytime wear rather than going out. There's nothing wrong with that though, everyone needs a good few casual but still pretty outfits don't they??!

This outfit caught my eye (can you tell I'm into funky sleaves?)

but as always, they didn't have my size...and in fact I wasn't even sure if the sizes from Suits Me would fit at all. Although I'm pretty sure I'm not a "L" or "XXL" which is all they have left in that outfit.

In the end I ordered this outfit:

It wasn't the nicest outfit on the site, but here's why I ordered it:

1) It was cheap, even if I didn't like it I wouldn't be crying over the fact that I'd just spent £15 (£11.25 for the outfit + £4.50 postage)
2) They had it in a small size - XS
3) 3/4 length sleeves - good for all this cold weather

I went through the order process, no problems there, and a few days later my outfit arrived. What was the verdict??
- it was too big! I know I'm petite, but an XS in most places usually fits me.
- the design I'd chosen didn't have much shape, so even when my sister tried it on (the size was fine for her) it wasn't fitted or very flattering.

Don't let that put you off though! In hindsight, I think I did make a poor choice when it came to picking the outfit. It would probably suit a lot of people, and the fact that they didn't have anything above a size S shows people have been buying it...

Here's the final verdict on Suits Me:

Good stuff
- the prices
- the site design
- how easy it is to buy stuff

Bad stuff
- the sizes and availability of current stock
- not all of the outfits have pictures
- not exactly cutting edge fashion

Overall, I'd still shop there (if they did an XXS!) and perhaps I'd be a bit more careful when choosing my outfit, after all, just cause something looks nice on a model it doesn't mean it's going to look good on me!
As I said before, the site has good, reasonably priced everyday stuff, so if you're wardrobe is already crammed with full-on-embroidered party wear, and you want something you can breathe in and still look half decent, then Suits Me is worth a browse.

* suits me also have 2 stores in Bradford, and 1 in Halifax - check out their website for details

  1. i had recently ordered from Suits me as it was recommended by a friend and was disappointed when the order arrrived.
The quality of the outfits did not meet a good enough standard in my opinion. The outfits looked so elegant on line, but when recieved, the quality of the material and stitchwork made it look cheap!!
Sizing i also found to be an issue. Having ordered Small as i was conscious XS would show off too much curves, the Small fits more like a large in my opinion!! Very disappointing considering i had spent over £100 on the order!!
The only items i would credit on Suits Me are the bangles, however, they did not quite fully get that right as having ordered 6 bangle sets at size 2.4, strangly i have received one which is 2.10?!?!

A website i would strongly recommend is www.rupali.com
The outfits are far more cheaper with the quality of a much higher standard!! You can pick up some nice salwar suits for as cheap as £5!! Although they do not do XS which is a shame, those who they do cater for would be very happy customers!!

  4. I tried a website for costume and swarovski jewellery - www.blingasia.com and found the quality of items to be FAB and prices were very competitive in comparison to other website.

  5. Hi ladies, I am thinking of setting up a website devoted to asian-western fusion suits made in standard UK sizes size 6 to size 18, but I wanted to know if any of you would buy that kind of product or if there is a need for it in the market? Let me know your comments.

  9. lol nevermind i got my stuff in the end from diyaonline and it's cool, only downside was that the suit that i had ordered was the last one they had but luckily it was xs but when i got it, it had a faint thin dark line goin across the back of it but thankgod that i'm an artist n just dabbed light white fabric paint over it n made it vanish cos i loved it way too much to return it! phew!

  10. I'm thinking of ordering a suit from Diyaonline.com but just wondered if anyone has any recommendations about sizes? I note that they express sizes in chest size (assume this is bust size?) but what about waist sizes? Any information/advice would be appreciated!

  11. Shoaib:

    just stay away from them:

i recently bought a suit item number 'sml 0474' for my wife from suit me online and I am absolutely disgusted. I bought it for her as a Eid gift and Eid is only 2 days away now, she hasnt come back from work, i just showed my anger to suits me online over the phone. and now i am writing here in agony.

the style 0474 from their website is black and pink, lovely dori work but when the package arrived its not black it bloody Maroon colour and design is not pink they showed on internet, its different....

Ovarall quality of embroidery is just very cheap, very different from their website pictures. On their site it feels you are buying a very fine dress but originally when i received it i felt i bought a cheap quality dress with cheap looking embroidery and even stiches are not straight.

I think i can only say that avoid online shops, my wife previously had tried Diya as well, they have the same issues.

Best thing is buy from the local shops check with your own eyes, this was absolutely waste of money andt time experience.

  14. Iam planning to shop from suits me online , and while checking the reviews stumbled upon this blog .. really helpful , I can say.
I have previously shopped with Diya and Rupali .. and I would give Rupali a 9/10 and Diya 7/10 for the quality of the fabric. Rupali does cater to the latest trends .
The one shop which I wonder if anybody has visited is Salwar.com ..they have such mesmerising patterns and trends beautifully adorned by fab looking models . I did place an order last yr ..and when I got the package promptly on time ..I was happy , but when I saw the size of the package ..i knew i would be dissapointed . I had ordered 2 salwars for £120 , but ended up with exact copy of the pattern shown on the site , but the cotton material was PATHETIC.
Wonder if anybody shares my experience.

  16. suitsme are terrible. Ive ordered twice and both times i have not recieved all my items. After spending alot of time on the phone explaining my situation I have got nothing back from them. I spent a month trying to get a refund but recieved no refund and no missing item. They're complete fraudsters and the clothing looks cheap and shabby!

  17. Hi Guys

I recently ordered from the Suits Me Sale. I left it a little late...2 days.. and there were alot of items out of stock. On speaking to the agent i realised that they had been busy and stock doesnt last long.

I received my 5 suits and was pleased with my purchase, no issues what so ever. It took 5 days to reach me, but they do say that in the sale period. No issues what so ever, so will be ordering again.

  21. Hiya - just stumbled on this site whilst trying to get some money back from suits me. I was so excited about ordering (the first time ever) and was so disappointed when I received the items. I managed to get a refund for the clothes. After a week or so and after about ten e-mails I got my postage refunded. I'm still waiting for the refund postage to be paid. Have sent them enough complaint e-mails.One thing I hate is the poor attitude of alot of asian businesses to the law. The law specifically states that they must refund you as soon as they're aware that you wish to cancel the contract. And if they've not fulfilled their side of the contract (ie sending the wrong / faulty) items then they must pay the postage both ways as well.
It may only be a few pounds but it's the principle - and multiply that by the number of customers who have to return items and they're making a damn lot of money by sending out the wrong stuff!

  22. is there any online shops which sell quality clothes. suits me has summer material clothes and no winter season clothes

  23. Suits me is rubbish....after returning an order which I wasn't pleased with, I am still waiting for a refund which is over a £100 for over 3,onths now. Their service is soooo disappointing, I have made several phone calls and have even visited the shop in Blackburn. The shop keeper himself told me that this has happened on several occasions before and suits me does not refund customers back!
My advice would be don't shop from there as the quality is poor and the fashion is of the very typical than modern! I will now be taking legal actions!

  24. I've ordered from suits me recently, 2 outfits of the same design, but different colours (black, white) both size S (supposedly), black fitted fine, but as for the white it was more like an XS, the sleeves were too tight! the stitching was rubbish! and it had stains like colours had run down from the designs.

  25. I will no longer order from suitsme, I have ordered from them for many years, but now they are showing me poor service by sending me things I didn't order instead of telling me they don't have a particular size in stock. Its clear because the products were on sale, they wanted to get rid of them ASAP, but it doesn't mean that they force them on to customers. They make you pay for returns and only refund you what you pay excluding the postage, so waste of time and money. No one apologised to me, no one accepted their mistake, so I will no longer deal with them anymore. What a rip off!
