Javeria and Roshi's (Je Roche) at the 2010 Asian Wedding Lifestyle & Fashion Exhibition in Manchester

Javeria and Roshi's brought a different feel to the catwalk at the 2010 Manchester Asian Lifestyle Wedding & Fashion Exhibition. We'd already seen short tops paired with lehngas, a few toned model stomachs (and even some visible underwear!) from the likes of Shagun and Alankar, but Javeria and Roshi's collection was all about long flowing tops!

My stand-out piece from the collection was this red gharara. As you can see from my pics the lighting and smoke effects didn't really work with my camera, but one of the press photographers at the even captured a slight colour variation on this outfit from one of the other catwalk shows which I've included below.

What do you think about these long flowing looser tops? I think this trend definitely has more of Pakistani origin compared to the shorter tops which are more of an Indian fashion trend. Personally I prefer my tops to be fitted (although I'm a little too shy for the teeny tiny midriff baring tops) and can't remember the last time I wore a top that went down to me knees (unless you count anarkali churidar suits!). It'll be interesting to see if any of the Indian clothes shops in the UK take step into this direction :)

  3. I really like the light pale blue - can see myself wearing it. Longer tops are nice, but only if fitted, not if they were all baggy :)
