Truphae at the Asiana Bridal Show 2011

Truphae launched their first collection at the 2011 Asiana Bridal show. I'd previously seen designs by all of the other catwalk designers at the Asiana Show so was interested to see what this new company had to offer.

Before I post pictures (courtesy of Rafyl Photography and J Dhillon Photography) here's a video of the show which Truphae posted online:

First impressions of the collection were that the outfits were a bit "hit and miss". Some of them were beautiful and made me think "wow" and others I didn't like at all.

I'd wear any of the above outfits and considering most of the other designers focused on bridal outfits (well, it was a bridal show after all) it was nice to see outfits which guests could wear to a wedding or outfits which glam brides could wear for post-wedding events.

I didn't manage to get a photo of the first red outfit, worn with a sheer shrug/cape, you can see it in the video - I didn't like the colour combination or the embroidery on this outfit.

This velvet maroon and beige lehnga looked a little too drab, heavy and shapeless:

The showstopper
The finale of their collection was this peacock outfit. It definitely made an impact, and if you watched the video with sound on, she even got a round of applause when she opened up that feathered tail accessory.

Overall, even though I didn't like every single outfit, the good ones made up for the bad ones and it was nice to see a bit of an influence from Pakistani fashion trends on this catwalk.
I know they're quite new but if anyone has an experiences with Truphae do share :)
