Lenghas at Zarah Sra launch event London

Zarah Sra really did save the best for last with the collection of lenghas she showcased at her launch event.

From more moden, lighter embroidered lenghas like this blue and silver one below, to more lenghas with more traditional work, there was a lot of variety in the styles.

This gold lengha was a personal favourite of mine, I love the glitziness of the top!

Here's a pic of the designer herself, Zarah Sra, posing with two of her models. I'm guessing her outfit may be one of her own designs, that was very pretty too!

Anarkali suits at the Zarah Sra launch event

Anarkali suits were next on the catwalk at the Zarah Sra launch event, held in London last week.

Starting with these two rich velvet suits, and then moving into patterened swatches and block colours, less was more when it came to embroidery.

Zarah Sra Launch Collection - salwar suits

Next up on the catwalk at the Zarah Sra Couture launch event in London were the salwar suits.

These outfits were inspired by Zarah's love for Delhi and Punjab culture - Punjaban style salwars in gota, sequins, shorter feminine kameez's in raw silks (great if you're after a change from all long flowing Pakistani-style outfits!), velvet with Jodha Akbar influenced patterns and beautiful neck cuts, intricate gold antique borders and embroidery.

If you like these outfits, make sure you also view the Zarah Sra sari collection which was also showcased at this launch event.

Zarah Sra Couture Launch - the saris

Last Friday, The Gloucester Hotel in Kensington London held host to the launch of a collection by designer Zarah Sra.

Guests were treated to four catwalk shows with entertainment in between and by all accounts it looks like it was a great event.

First up on the catwalk was the sari collection:

I didn't attend the show, but from the photos, it looks like a really well put-together event - professional models, hair and make-up which complemented the outfits rather than overshadowing them and I suppose it helps that I liked the clothes too!

Khushboos by Chand at the Birmingham Asiana Bridal Show 2012

I recently posted photos from Khushboos by Chand at the London Asiana Bridal Show 2012, Khushboos also had two slots on the catwalk, in their hometown, at the Birmingham Asiana Bridal Show, in which they showcased a larger range of their asian bridalwear.

Here's a video of the show:

Ekta Solanki at the 2012 Asiana Bridal Show London

Here's the collection by Ekta Solanki as showcased at the 2012 Asiana Bridal Exhibition in London.

Although this collection didn't quite make the same impact as the Ekta Solanki collection from 2011, I still liked most of the outfits and can see why Ekta Solanki is so popular.

Ekta Solanki patterned bridal lengha

The two main colours featured in this collection were pink and green - a colour combination which I think works beautifully in the this next outfit:

I'm prone to a bit of hot pink, so it's no surprise that these next two outfits really appeal to me. Too much of one colour can be a little overwhelming and I've seen all-over hot pink done badly before, however in this case I think it works very well:

Out of all the outfits, this purple one below was probably my least favourite.

I don't really like this shade of green, so that put me off the finale outfit a little, however saying that, I still think this is a beautiful outfit.

Thank you to Studio 4 Photography for these photos.

What did you think of this collection? Did it match up to the 2011 show?

Ziggi Studio Menswear at the Asiana Bridal Show London 2012

Up next on the catwalk at the 2012 Asiana Bridal Show in London was a personal favourite of mine - menswear designer Ziggi Studio.

Entitled "Dewan-e-khas" the scene was set for this part of the catwalk show with live music and a dance performance.

A lot of the accessories for these outfits way from Kyles Collection.

Although the models here are heavily accessorized, for the more modest grooms, the outfits look just as good without the extras:

This outfit below is one of my favourites from the collection:

A massive thanks to Rafyl Photography for these photos. Ziggi Studio have posted this video from the show:

Khushboos by Chand at the 2012 Asiana Bridal Show London

Here's the collection from Birmingham-based Khushboos By Chand, which was showcased at the 2012 Asiana Bridal Show in London.

The main colour theme was red, with 7 out of their 8 pieces being red.

I like the layering on the skirt of this first outfit, although I'm not a fan of the top so much

I like the sleeves on this one -

I'm a bit unsure about the bottom of the lengha on this next outfit, the layering looks a bit wrong to me.

A big thanks to Studio 4 Photography for these photos.
