A few weeks ago I received an invitation to the 2015 Fashion Parade at the Saatchi Gallery in London. The event promised to be a "grand fashion show celebrating the finest fashion from South Asia", with collections from the likes of Pakistani designer Ali Xeeshan and Indian designer Anamika Khanna to name but a few!
I'll be posting my favourite looks from the catwalk soon, but first, here's what I wore to the event and some of my favourite looks from the very glamourous guests in attendance!
Having browsed the photos from the 2014 Fashion Parade I knew the style stakes were high and I that nothing I currently had in my wardrobe would suffice.
I was also on a bit of budget and didn't have time to buy a new asian outfit so I hit the high street in search of something I could style for a fusion look. It was just my luck that an email from H&M arrived in my inbox featuring this blue patterned kimono.
On the website, it was styled open, worn with shorts for a boho/festival look, however there was something about this top which reminded me of HSY's 2015 INK collection, which featured a number of draped kimono-style tops in blue:
I went to my nearest H&M to try it on and ended up buying it. On the day, I kept the rest of my look really simple with a blue silky vest underneath, indigo skinny jeans, dark pointy heels and a small blue and gold floral necklace, also from H&M.
Here are some of the looks from the other guests at the event:
Organisers of the show Sadia Siddiqui, from Mustang PR, wearing Ali Xeeshan and Ammara Hikmat from Encyclomedia PR wearing Maheen G Taseer.
Attika Choudhary from B4U music wearing Faika Karim:
Host for the evening Gulzaeb wearing Rose Room Couture
Isha Rajpal designer at Rose Room Couture:
Some of the other bloggers at the event working the floral trend:
Make-up Artist Ambreen, wearing Soltee by Sulakshana Monga
Iman and Maryam Malik from Imar Blogs looking super super stylish in Miss Selfridge and Lavish Alice.
Here's one last pic of me taken at the end of the evening, with Ziggi from Ziggi Menswear. A huge thanks to Blacklane who ensured I arrived in style at the event in one of their"Business Class" cars.
